There are no accounts, and nothing you do here is tied to you.

Your guesses

When you place a marker, one number is sent: which of about fifty buckets your guess fell in, and which item it was for. It increments a counter. There is no row with your name on it because there is no row at all, only a total, and your guess becomes indistinguishable from every other guess in that bucket the moment it arrives.

What stays on your device

Which items you have played, and where you placed each marker, are stored in your browser and never sent anywhere. Clearing your browser data removes them, and nobody else has a copy.

Guess state is never put in a web address. A link you copy carries no record of what you did.

Advertising and measurement

A consent dialog asks before anything that needs asking, and Privacy settings in the footer of every page reopens it, so a choice you made once is a choice you can change.

There are no ads here yet. When there are, this page will say so before they appear, and a consent dialog will ask you first.

Visits are counted with Google Analytics. Where you are matters. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland nothing is stored until a consent dialog has asked you, and if you decline it stays that way. Everywhere else it sets a cookie by default, which is what lets it tell a returning reader from a new one. It is never told who you are, and nothing it records is joined to a guess.

Your browser also reaches Cloudflare, which serves the site and its pictures. No other site is asked for an image.

An advertising script from Google also loads, with the same consent denied, because the account has to be reviewed before any ad can be shown and the review looks for that script. It has nothing to fill, so no ad is requested and nothing is stored.

If you write to us

An email is the one thing here that does have your name on it. If you write to the address on contact, we have your message and whatever address you sent it from, for as long as it takes to deal with it. That is ordinary email and nothing else on this site works that way.
